Together with its client EADS, SupplyOn has been awarded COMPUTERWOCHE's Best in Cloud accolade for the joint "AirSupply" project. The award was presented to SupplyOn on 13 October 2011 at the Best in Cloud Conference in Offenbach, the first major competition aimed at finding Germany's best cloud offering.
SupplyOn designed the hybrid cloud solution AirSupply - a combination of a public and private cloud - for the entire European aerospace industry. The solution displays complex collaboration processes in the field of supply chain management. It ensures that processes for demand forecasts, orders and shipping notifications as well as goods receipt run smoothly and enables the implementation of the consumption-controlled logistics concept Vendor Managed Inventory.
AirSupply forms the basis for standardized and efficient SCM processes in the aerospace industry, ensuring transparent cooperation with suppliers. Ultimately it will be used by all EADS divisions and will also be available to the European aerospace industry as a whole. The project stems originally from the BoostAeroSpace initiative launched in mid-2010 by some of Europe's best known aerospace players, including EADS / Airbus, Dassault Aviation, Safran and Thales.
SupplyOn has been the platform standard for the automotive industry for over ten years now. The AirSupply project has also helped promote the company as a trustworthy partner for the aerospace industry. AirSupply confirms once again that a joint industry solution outmatches company-specific individual solutions. This is reason enough for the jury of the Best in Cloud award 2011 to select SupplyOn as winner in the "Software as a Service - hybrid cloud" category.
